No matter how you feel about the change in seasons, you’ll want to be snug and warm inside your home. Don’t make the mistake of forgetting the part of your home that provides the most protection. As you’re digging the rake out of the back of the shed and cleaning up the yard this fall, we recommend you take a minute and do a quick visual inspection of your roof. Read through the following list of things to look for, and if you see anything that concerns you call us for a free roof inspection.

How To Make A Visual Inspection. Not sure what to look for? Well first off, we never recommend walking on your roof. Minimize the risk to yourself, and save your shingles the unnecessary wear and tear. We’ve heard too many stories of clients falling and getting injured, and you don’t want to be on that list. Wobbly ladders and unseen loose shingles are reason enough to keep your feet on the ground. We recommend a pair of binoculars for a closer look.

Start with an inspection of the shingles. Are any cracked, buckling, or missing? What about moss or fungus build up? Take a look in the valleys of the roof, do you see any leaf litter or other debris? Any build up should be cleaned away. This goes for your gutters as well, build up can cause backups and problems with your roof too. The last place to look is along your chimneys and the rubber boots around your pipes. Quick repairs to cracks or loose pieces will definitely save you time and money.
